Dictionary Infernal
In 2016 I started to draw my own versions of the Dictionary Infernal. This series was inspired by the original grimoire "The Dictionnaire Infernal" by Jacques Auguste Simon Collin de Plancy first published in 1818 which inspired the later more popularized edition illustrated by Louis Le Breton featuring an encyclopedia of Demons. In this series I am exploring the Dictionnaire Infernal for it's written descriptions and depictions as well as looking through occult classics, art history, and horror films to create an overall study and self assured understanding of what these demons could possibly look like. I will continue this series till I have created my own grimoire of Demons Old, New and spanning across history. Currently I've only illustrated up to the Letter D.
